Safety Harbor has two opportunities this month for residents thinking about their trees: a giveaway Saturday, October 10, and a free care workshop Saturday, October 24.

The giveaway runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at the boat ramp near Alligator Lake on Donovan Drive. It is for Safety Harbor residents or property owners, who must bring proof of eligibility. City staff will help participants choose a suitable tree and provide instructions for establishing it.

The workshop runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Safety Harbor Public Library, 101 Second Street North. Topics include maintenance, selecting a tree professional, city permitting and preservation of the Baranoff Oak. Attendance is limited; contact the city arborist at JaRyan@CityofSafetyHarbor.com to sign up before making plans to attend.
